What we learned at the Summer of Summits

And just like that, the Summer of Summits is in the books. dbt Labs, along with thousands of data people, converged in Las Vegas and San Francisco last month where Snowflake and Databricks held their annual Summit events, respectively. The announcements and conversations at each event were lively, with both centering around generative AI, data applications and data marketplaces. Across both these events, dbt Labs showed up in full effect. In both San Francisco and Las Vegas, there was never a dull moment at our show floor space, driving home the interest people have in dbt and the role we play in the modern data stack. There are too many highlights to mention, but in case you missed it, here are some of the key things:

It comes as no surprise that at dbt Labs, we think our product is pretty special. It’s extra rewarding, then, when your ecosystem partners validate your thinking. At Snowflake Summit, we were awarded Data Integration Partner of the Year, citing that joint customers find faster time to value in the Data Cloud when using Snowflake and dbt Cloud together.

And at the Data and AI Summit, we were recognized as Customer Impact Partner of the Year. As a customer obsessed organization, we take a lot of satisfaction in this award, knowing that customers who use dbt Cloud alongside Databricks accelerate their journey to the lakehouse.

Customers share the value dbt Cloud delivers for their organization

Like many organizations, we believe the best stories told about our product come directly from our customers. Across both events, we had customers including AXS, Druva, Hubspot and Lovelytics on stage and on camera talking about their journey with dbt Cloud, including best practices for getting started, how to scale dbt to support growing demands of the business, and how dbt Cloud delivers tangible value to an organization. Seemingly everyone wants to know about dbt

As we mentioned below, we feel we’re pretty special here at dbt Labs. If the activity at our booth across these two events is any evidence, a lot of other folks do too! From the moment the day started, to the moment it ended, we literally had lines of people looking to learn more about dbt Cloud, how to use dbt Cloud with either Snowflake and Databricks (or in some cases both!), and how to replicate the successes that were shared by our customers that spoke on our behalf. All the conversations were extremely engaging, showing that dbt is central to an organization’s data strategy.
