Tristan Handy

Tristan Handy

Founder & CEO

Tristan Handy is the Founder and CEO of dbt Labs. dbt is an emerging leader in the data transformation space. It's used by 30,000 companies including JetBlue, HubSpot, Dunelm, and SunRun. Tristan has over two decades of experience as a data practitioner working in both large enterprises and startups. His expertise and data industry best practices have influenced thousands of subscribers and listeners weekly via his newsletter and podcast covering analytics engineering.

Brandon Sweeney

Brandon Sweeney

Chief Operating Officer

Brandon Sweeney is President & Chief Operating Officer at dbt Labs where he oversees all aspects of the Go-To-Market organization including revenue, customer success, partnerships and marketing.  His charter is to scale customer growth and adoption across geographies and industries.  Before joining dbt Labs, Brandon was Chief Revenue Officer at HashiCorp where his team included revenue, technical field operations, revenue operations, partnerships and customer success.  During his tenure, HashiCorp successfully completed an IPO and grew revenue more than 4x to over $550M, counting 40% of the Fortune 500 as customers.  Prior to HashiCorp, Brandon spent 16 years at VMware, where he held multiple global senior sales leadership roles including cloud sales, commercial sales, Dell sales, and worldwide partner sales, helping grow the company from $70M to over $11B.  Earlier in his career, Brandon held roles at IBM and Morgan Stanley.  Sweeney has built and scaled numerous high-performing teams throughout his career in enterprise technology, is an active mentor and advisor in the industry and serves on the Board of FiscalNote.  He holds a BA in Government from Bowdoin College and a Master in Management from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.

Co-Founder

Drew Banin is the co-founder and former Chief Product Officer at dbt Labs, a Philadelphia startup pioneering the practice of modern analytics engineering. dbt is used by over 30,000 companies every week to organize, catalog, and distill knowledge in their data warehouses. Drew works with open source maintainers, contributors, and users to build dbt and strike fear in the hearts of database optimizers.

Daniel Le

Daniel Le

Chief Financial Officer

Daniel Le serves as Chief Financial Officer at dbt Labs where he oversees most of the business teams. Prior to joining dbt Labs, Daniel led finance and operations at Zoom, helping them scale from less than $100m to $4.2B from May 2018 to September 2022. He previously held finance leadership roles at Okta, helping them scale through their IPO, as well as a number of finance and operations roles at Applied Materials, KLA, and TiVo earlier in his career. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Santa Clara University.

Luis Maldonado

Luis Maldonado

VP, Product

Luis joined dbt Labs as VP Product in July 2023 after 5 years at AWS leading product teams for Amazon Athena and Amazon Detective. Luis’ career has focused on building enterprise infrastructure products in networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and for the last 12 years, data and analytics. Luis holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from MIT and lives just outside of Boston, MA.

Connor McArthur

Connor McArthur

Co-Founder

Connor McArthur is the co-founder of dbt Labs. Connor has over a decade of experience as an individual contributor and senior engineering leader building enterprise-ready data transformation tools. Prior to founding dbt Labs, he worked as a software engineer and engineering manager developing product, platform, and infrastructure at RJMetrics. He previously developed the open source VU-LEGO real time target enabling students without coding backgrounds to develop complex robotics systems. He holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Villanova University, and resides in Camden County, NJ.

Megan Pittman

Megan Pittman

VP, People

Megan Pittman is the VP of People at dbt Labs, and leads the talent acquisition and people operations functions, including: DEI, Total Rewards, Experience, Administration, Ops, and L&D. Over the past decade, she has built and led global people teams for Blue Bottle Coffee, Stitch Fix, Shiru and others. She is passionate about operationalizing a company’s values, scaling a high-performing and authentic culture, and enabling and challenging folks to deliver their best work. She holds a BS in Psychology and a Masters in Organizational Development and Systems Theory. She loves to volunteer, and while new to Park City, Utah - is very excited to explore the mountains with her two aussies, Goose and Ruby.

Mark Porter

Mark Porter

Chief Technology Officer

Mark Porter is the CTO at dbt Labs where he leads the engineering organization, including the development, research, and infrastructure teams, supporting mission-critical customers around the world, along with driving the future technical direction of the company. He has over three decades of experience at MongoDB, Grab, Amazon Web Services, NASA/JPL, Oracle, and other companies. In all of these roles, he has focused on building software for customers to use in their mission-critical businesses while also nurturing and growing excellent engineering cultures and teams. He began professionally programming at age 16 and is a named inventor on 15 patents. Porter has served on the boards of MongoDB and Splyt, and currently serves on the board of directors at GitLab. He holds a BS in Engineering and Applied Science from Caltech. When not at his keyboard, he spends time with his wife and 5 children.

Ryan Segar

Ryan Segar

VP, Field Engineering

Ryan Segar is VP Field Engineering comprising of all technical, customer facing teams across pre and post sale with a sole focus of customer success throughout. Over the past decade Ryan has served as an executive leader in this capacity growing startups from early stage to unicorn in organizations like Periscope Data, Sisense and now dbt Labs. Prior to that Ryan’s focus was in the public market at IBM tasked with driving innovation through product launches like Watson for Life Science and natural language insights.

Austin Stefani

Austin Stefani

Chief Revenue Officer

Austin Stefani is a seasoned sales leader with over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Before joining dbt Labs, Austin was most recently the GVP of Americas Sales at Rubrik, where over the past 6 years, he helped grow revenue to more than 5000 customers and over $500M in cloud software subscription ARR. Austin has also held various sales leadership positions at SAP and EMC. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Outside of work, Austin enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
