Curious about dbt and ready to dive in? This two-hour workshop provides a guided, hands-on experience to help you build your first dbt project and understand the fundamentals.

You'll get a guided introduction to the dbt platform, build a working project and learn how to test your data quality. We will also explore how State-aware orchestration (SAO) will help data teams only run projects that actually needs to be executed. Why is SAO so important? With state-aware orchestration enabled, dbt moves from being stateless to stateful. Instead of simply running exactly what was specified in a job, dbt maintains a real-time fingerprint of both model code and data state.

Led by an instructor, with a technical assistant answering your questions in real time, this fast-paced workshop is designed for data practitioners who want to start delivering reliable data with dbt. By the end, you’ll walk away with a working dbt project, a solid understanding of the dbt basics, and ideas for how to use dbt in your own work.
