One engine to rule them all: why Obie left the shire

Obie Insurance tore out its ELT infrastructure and rebuilt it from the ground up, using Apache Iceberg, the dbt Fusion engine, dbt Semantic Layer,  and AI tooling.

This session walks through the rebuild decision, the architecture they landed on, and the lessons from running it in production. The story happens to be told through a Lord of the Rings lens. The problems it solved were real.
