At Figma, we built consistency checkers in-house: a testing tool that uses dbt, Snowflake, and Dagster to run rigorous verification across both development and production environments. As our systems have grown in complexity, the tool has built up a track record: catching bugs, surfacing edge cases, and flagging issues before they become incidents.
This session covers the architecture behind consistency checkers, the decisions we made while building them, and the gotchas we ran into along the way. We'll also share the specific moments where the tool caught something that would have otherwise slipped through.
