Toby Mao

Toby is an engineering Director at Fivetran / dbt Labs leading state, compute, and semantics layer. He was previous the co-founder and CTO at Tobiko Data, the company behind SQLMesh. He formerly led Analytics Infrastructure at Airbnb where he helped create their semantic layer Minerva as well as designed Netflix's experimentation platform. He also started SQLGlot, a popular open source Python SQL framework. He enjoys smoking meats, is a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and the former world record holder for solving a Rubik's Cube.
