Tobias Mao

Tobias (Toby) Mao is an experienced technology leader currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Fivetran since August 2025, following the acquisition of Tobiko Data, where Toby was Co-Founder and CTO from September 2022 to August 2025. Prior to this, Toby held significant roles at prominent companies including Airbnb as a Senior Staff Software Engineer and Netflix as an Architect for Experimentation Infrastructure. Noteworthy contributions include architecting data infrastructure and innovative recommendation systems at Scribd and developing ETL pipelines at Beghou Consulting. Toby holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Northwestern University.
