Migrate stored procs with dbt Wizard
Thursday, September 1712:45 PM PT
Turn a legacy stored procedure into a dbt project you can maintain, test, and build on. Use dbt Wizard to generate model layers, then validate parity with audit_helper so you can trust the migration results. Wrap up by defining a Semantic Layer metric using dbt Wizard to make the new logic consumable across tools.
Learning objectives: After this lab, you will be able to:
- Migrate a stored procedure into dbt using dbt Wizard
- Validate legacy vs. dbt outputs with audit_helper
- Define a Semantic model on top of the migrated models
Prerequisites:
- dbt Fundamentals
- SQL experience
What to bring: You must bring your own laptop to complete the exercises. We will provide all other sandbox environments for dbt and a data platform.
Duration: 90 minutes
